Railways Budget 2021-22  was finally announced on 01-02-2021(Monday) by Hon’ble Finance Minister of India Dr. Nirmala Sitharaman. I n an effort to revive Indian Railways which suffered massive financial losses during Covid 19 outbreak, the proposed budget focuses on allocating Rs.1,10,055 crores on Indian Railways out of which Rs. 1,07,100 crores is marked for capital expenditure. With a view to improving upon the facilities and enhance the available amenities, Indian Railways has been planning to privatize some of its fleet across the nation. The long discussion came to an end in the recent joint press meet of Railway Board chairman VK Yadav, Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said on Thursday (Sep 17).
